One Bridge Away. Whether That Is Worth It Depends.

Staten Island has its own Kia store, and the crossing has a price printed on it. So this page does the arithmetic out loud instead of pretending the bridge is not there — what the trip actually buys you, and the days it is not worth starting the car at all.

Your Kia Dealership Near Staten Island, NY

2746 Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11210 — in southern Brooklyn, roughly twenty minutes east of the Brooklyn end of the Verrazzano. From the North Shore it is usually 25 to 35 minutes; from Mid-Island 30 to 45; from the South Shore 40 to 55. Our Google rating stands at 4.2 stars from over a thousand reviews.

The same family has run this block since 1975. Six franchises share it — Kia, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Acura and our used-car store — alongside Plaza Body Shop and PlazaParts.com. Most of the Island falls inside our 25-mile free delivery radius, which is the part worth knowing: the bridge is optional.

Why Staten Island Drivers Choose a Kia Dealer in Brooklyn

You have a Kia store on the Island, and for a service appointment you should use it. Driving past your own dealer to have oil changed across a bridge makes no sense and we will not pretend it does. The case for crossing is about buying, and it comes down to four things.

A second quote, from a store on different numbers

Lease and finance programs are set per dealer and per month. Two Kia stores can price the same trim differently in the same week because they are chasing different targets. One call gets you a figure to hold the first one against — and you can get that figure without crossing anything.

Your trade is appraised by the brand that will retail it

Trading a RAV4, a CR-V, a Tucson or an MDX? The franchise that sells that car is on this block and prices your trade as retail stock. A single-brand store has to price it as something it will send to auction instead. On a three-year-old SUV that difference is rarely small.

Cross-shop four brands on foot

Sportage, RAV4, CR-V and Tucson, back to back, one afternoon, without moving the car. If you are genuinely undecided between badges, this is the only part of the trip a Staten Island dealer cannot match — and it is worth more than any discount.

Or stay home and let us drive

Free delivery covers 25 miles, which reaches most of the Island. We bring the car, do the paperwork at your address and take the trade on the same visit. The far South Shore — Tottenville, Charleston, parts of Annadale — sits near the edge of that radius, so call with your cross streets and we will confirm before anyone commits.

Before you weigh up the crossing: check what the factory is running this month first — programs change monthly and vary by model, trim and credit tier. See current Kia rebates and incentives →

The Bridge Math: When Crossing the Verrazzano Actually Pays

Staten Island is the only borough where shopping in Brooklyn has a price printed on it. Rather than talk around that, here is the arithmetic, set out plainly, so you can decide before you start the car.

What the crossing costs, and who decides it

The Verrazzano is cashless: E-ZPass or Tolls by Mail, and Staten Island residents may qualify for a discount plan. We deliberately do not print a figure here, because we do not set the rate and a number on a dealership page is stale the moment it changes. Check the MTA's current schedule. What we can say is that the toll is a one-off on a purchase you keep for years, which is a different calculation from paying it twice a week to commute.

When it is worth crossing

When you want a second quote in writing from a store working to different monthly numbers. When your trade is a Toyota, Honda, Hyundai or Acura and you want it appraised by the franchise that will retail it rather than auction it. And when you are still undecided between badges and want to drive four of them in one afternoon without moving your car.

When it is not

For routine service, use your Island dealer — it is closer and the work is identical. If your local store has already matched the deal in writing, take it; a second identical number is not worth a bridge. And if you are early in the process and still browsing, browse online first. We would rather tell you not to come than waste your Saturday.

If you are going to cross a bridge for this, cross it once. Applying beforehand means the numbers are settled before you arrive and the visit is a test drive and a signature, not an afternoon.

  • Whatever your trade is worth goes into the deposit before signatures
  • Plates, registration and the DMV paperwork done here — nothing extra for you to file

One Crossing. Six Showrooms. Or None At All.

The same family has run Plaza Auto Mall on Nostrand Avenue since 1975, and for anyone crossing from the Island it is the block, not the single showroom, that justifies the trip. Kia, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Acura and Plaza Used Cars sit side by side, with Plaza Body Shop for collision work and PlazaParts.com for parts.

If you cross a bridge, you should get more for it than one showroom. Four badges compared on foot in an afternoon, and a trade valued by the franchise that will put it back on its own forecourt.

And if that still does not justify the trip, do not make it. Delivery reaches most of the Island, and the trade goes back with the driver.

New Kia Cars & SUVs for Sale Near Staten Island, NY

The Sportage is the volume car, and the hybrid is the version that makes sense on a long Island commute. The Seltos works as the smaller second car. The Sorento and Sorento Hybrid carry three rows in a body that still fits a garage, and the Telluride is the full-size answer the Island buys more of than anywhere else we serve. The Carnival is the minivan nobody admits to wanting until the fourth car seat. On sedans there are the K4 and K5. The EV3 covers electric; stock runs thin, so call before crossing for one, and the EV research pages are worth reading if you have a driveway to charge on — which, on the Island, you probably do.

Used & Certified Pre-Owned Kia Near Staten Island, NY

The used lot is not Kia-only. Trades arrive from six franchises on this block, so a Staten Island shopper weighing a certified Sportage often ends up comparing it with a used RAV4 or CR-V that came in the same week.

The warranty point worth getting right before you cross. That headline 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain figure belongs to whoever bought the car new. Buy it second-hand and the term is shorter; the certified programme is a separate thing bolted on afterwards. The only numbers that mean anything are the date the car entered service and what survives against its VIN. Read us the VIN over the phone and we will tell you, at no cost, even if the car is parked at a forecourt on the Island. Better to know before you pay a toll.

Kia Service Near Staten Island, NY

Plainly: for routine work your Island dealer is closer, and we will tell you that on the phone. Coming here makes sense for the bigger jobs, for bodywork, and for anything the paint shop needs to look at in person. Where the car was bought makes no difference:

  • Servicing to the factory schedule, oil and filters included
  • Suspension, steering geometry, tyres and brakes
  • Twelve-volt and high-voltage battery testing on hybrids and EVs
  • State inspection, plus a multi-point look-over while it is up
  • Recalls and warranty repairs, with the term checked against the VIN first
  • Fault diagnosis, wiring and air conditioning
  • Genuine parts over the counter, fitted, or posted out
  • Accident and panel work next door at Plaza Body Shop

Service pickup and drop-off runs across the NYC metro area, which for the Island is often the deciding factor: the car crosses the bridge, you do not.

Sell or Trade Your Car

Buying from us is not a condition — we will buy the car outright if that is all you want. Take the cash offer, or roll it into the next one. Whichever franchise on this block sells your badge is the one that prices it, which is why the figure tends to beat a book valuation. Delivering to the Island? The driver takes your old car away on the same trip. One crossing, and it is done.

Other Areas We Serve

Directions from Staten Island to Plaza Kia

Every route starts the same way — the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge — and splits in two once you are on the Brooklyn side.

From the North Shore: the Expressway to the bridge

From St. George, Stapleton, New Brighton or Port Richmond, take the Staten Island Expressway (I-278) east to the Verrazzano. Usually 25 to 35 minutes door to door, depending entirely on the crossing.

From Mid-Island: Richmond Avenue or Victory Boulevard

From New Springville, Bulls Head, Todt Hill or Willowbrook, pick up the Expressway via Richmond Avenue or Victory Boulevard, then east to the bridge. Allow 30 to 45 minutes.

From the South Shore: Hylan or Route 440

From Great Kills, Eltingville, Annadale or Tottenville, take Hylan Boulevard north or the Korean War Veterans Parkway to the Expressway, then east. Allow 40 to 55 minutes — and this is the end of the Island where delivery is most worth asking about instead.

Once you are in Brooklyn: the Belt, or Kings Highway

Two choices, and locals use both. The Belt Parkway eastbound is quicker when it is clear — exit at Coney Island Avenue, east on Avenue U, then north on Nostrand. When the Belt is stacked, take the surface route: Kings Highway runs diagonally northeast across Bensonhurst and Midwood and meets Nostrand Avenue a few blocks south of us, so turn north there. If you reach Brooklyn College you have overshot.

Getting here without a car

It can be done, but it is a haul: the S79-SBS or S53 across the Verrazzano into Bay Ridge, the R train to Atlantic Avenue – Barclays Center, the 2 or 5 to Flatbush Avenue – Brooklyn College, then the B44 south on Nostrand, which stops near our block. Check the MTA for current schedules and service changes. If you are coming to collect a car you have already agreed on, ask about delivery and skip all of that.

Frequently Asked Questions About Buying a Kia Near Staten Island, NY

How far is Plaza Kia from Staten Island, and how long does it take?

We are at 2746 Nostrand Avenue in southern Brooklyn, about twenty minutes east of the Brooklyn end of the Verrazzano. From the North Shore allow 25 to 35 minutes, from Mid-Island 30 to 45, and from the South Shore 40 to 55 depending on the crossing.

What does the Verrazzano toll cost?

We do not set the toll and we will not quote a figure that goes out of date. The crossing is cashless, so it is billed by E-ZPass or Tolls by Mail, and Staten Island residents may qualify for a discount plan. Check the MTA's current schedule rather than taking a dealership's word for it.

Do you deliver to Staten Island?

Yes, free within 25 miles, which reaches most of the Island. We bring the car to your address, complete the paperwork there and collect your trade on the same visit. The far South Shore — Tottenville, Charleston and parts of Annadale — sits near the edge of the radius, so call with your cross streets and we will confirm first.

Is it actually worth crossing the bridge?

Sometimes not, and we would rather say so. If you want routine service, if your local store has already matched the deal, or if you are only browsing, stay on the Island. Cross when you want a second quote in writing, when your trade is another brand we retail on this block, or when you want to compare four badges in one afternoon.

Can I service my Kia at Plaza if I bought it on Staten Island?

Yes. Warranty work, recalls and scheduled maintenance do not depend on where the car was bought. That said, for an oil change your own Island dealer is closer and we will tell you so. Service pickup and drop-off is available across the metro area if the trip is the obstacle.

What are your sales, service and parts hours?

Showroom: 9:00am until 8:00pm Monday through Thursday, 9:00am until 7:00pm on Friday and Saturday, and 11:00am until 5:00pm on Sunday. Workshop and parts counter: 7:00am until 8:00pm Monday through Thursday, 7:00am until 7:00pm Friday and Saturday, shut on Sunday.

Is a certified pre-owned Kia still covered by the 10-year warranty?

Not in the way most people assume. The 10-year or 100,000-mile powertrain term belongs to the original owner, and a second owner gets a shorter one; certified pre-owned coverage is a separate program layered on top. What matters is the in-service date and what remains against that VIN. We will check it free, including on a car you found elsewhere.

Will you take my trade if I live on Staten Island?

Whatever it is, and with no obligation to buy. Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Acura and the used-car store are all on this block, so the badge on your bonnet gets valued by the people who will resell it. If we are delivering to you, the trade goes back with the driver.

Can I get to Plaza Kia from Staten Island without a car?

It can be done, but it is a haul: the S79-SBS or S53 across the Verrazzano into Bay Ridge, the R to Atlantic Avenue – Barclays Center, the 2 or 5 to Flatbush Avenue – Brooklyn College, then the B44 south on Nostrand. Check the MTA for current schedules. If you are collecting a car you have already agreed on, ask about delivery and skip all of it.

Can you handle New York registration and plates?

Yes, registration, plates and the paperwork are done in-house. Staten Island buyers do not need a separate DMV trip, and nothing about the process changes because you are crossing a bridge to get here.

Get the Numbers First. Cross the Bridge Second.

Or do not cross it at all — free delivery reaches most of the Island, and your trade goes back with the driver.
