Why two dealers quote differently for the same car
This is the part nobody explains, and it is simple. A dealer who can put your car back on their own forecourt is buying retail stock and can pay accordingly. A dealer who cannot has to send it to auction and accept whatever it makes there, so they have to offer less to protect themselves. The gap between those two positions is often substantial, and it has nothing to do with generosity.
